JEFFERSON CITY — Jefferson City police say a 19-year-old woman was injured after being shot during a fight at an after-hours nightclub.
Police who went to Club Motivation early Sunday found a large crowd leaving after a fight. The woman was hospitalized from an injury that police determined occurred from a shooting at the club.
The Jefferson City News-Tribune reported that in recent years, police have responded more than 120 times to the club under different names for incidents ranging from noise violations to shootings.
Police said in a news release a fight began inside the club and moved outside, where the shots were fired. While police investigated, another fight broke out inside the club. Police say the club's owner and witnesses were uncooperative.
