PrintCOLUMBIA — Former Missouri running back Derrick Washington entered a plea of guilty to misdemeanor third-degree domestic assault and was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail.
The charge was the last Washington will face in connection with two separate incidents that occurred in 2010 and that ultimately prompted his dismissal from the football team.

The first was the deviate sexual assault of his girlfriend's roommate in June 2010, in which he was accused entering the victim's bedroom, climbing into bed with her and digitally penetrating her, according to previous Missourian reporting. He was found guilty of that crime in September 2011.
Tuesday's sentencing was related to a September 2010 incident in which his ex-girlfriend told police he refused to leave her home, grabbed her by the throat, pinned her down and struck her multiple times in the face, according to previous Missourian reporting. She told police that Washington also pressed his fingers into her eyes.
Defense attorney Bogdan Susan represented the absent Washington, who is completing a 120-day shock probation sentence for his conviction in November for deviate sexual assault.
Washington's new sentence will run concurrently with his shock probation sentence. He will be on probation for five years after his release, which could be as soon as mid-March.
