LAWRENCE, Kan. — A Missouri man was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a robbery on the University of Kansas campus.
Mykel Dantae Karlyle, 21, of Belton was also ordered Tuesday to register as a violent offender after serving his prison sentence. He had pleaded no contest to one count of aggravated robbery.
Prosecutors said Karlyle used a handgun to rob a student of marijuana in April 2009 in a residence hall parking lot.
The Lawrence Journal-World reported that Karlyle also faces aggravated robbery and aggravated battery charges for a 2011 incident in Shawnee County.
A co-defendant in the Lawrence case, Terrance A. Dean, 21, of Topeka, faces sentencing Feb. 28 for conspiracy to commit robbery.

And you've highlighted this relatively insignificant crime why? The 'Missouri Man' was from Belton, MO, which is just across the border from Johnson CO, KS -- It's essentially part of the entire KC area, which extends about to Lawrence... Looks like your digging for some sensationalism here...
Insignificant??????
He used a gun!!!!!!!!
PS: Lot's of farmland between KCMO and Lawrence. Using your geography, I guess we could say Fulton is a suburb of Columbia.
