Rock Bridge High School concert will benefit Granny's House

COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge High School Show Choirs are putting on a concert Thursday that will benefit a local youth outreach program, Granny's House.

Granny's House is a faith-based nonprofit. The volunteer-run program's vision is to connect with children of Columbia's inner-city public housing, and provide a safe and nurturing environment that combines learning with fun activities.

The concert will start at 7 p.m. in Rock Bridge High School's Performing Arts Center. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Granny's House.

Earlier this year, Pam Ingram, the director of Granny's House, was honored at Columbia Values Diversity Celebration as the 2012 diversity award winner for individuals. Ingram's husband, Ellis Ingram, was also recognized for his work with CALEB - The Science Club, an extension of Granny's House that promotes academic and leadership excellence.

They were recognized for promoting diversity and cultural understanding in the community, according to a previous Missourian report.

Seating at the event is limited. Those interested in attending may call 214-3119 to reserve tickets.
