COLUMBIA — Lange MAC Scholars held a "Walking in Greatness" program Tuesday evening at Lange Middle School in honor of Black History Month. The event featured a performance by the Oaktown Steppers.
Montiera Ferrell-Nelson, 13, steps as a member of the Oaktown Steppers at "Walking in Greatness," a Black History Month program sponsored by Lange MAC Scholars on Tuesday evening at Lange Middle School. Ferrell-Nelson has been stepping for one year now, and the group members started practicing the routine they performed roughly two weeks ago.

Nia Smith, coach for the Oaktown Steppers, holds the ties that the group wore for its performance at the Walking In Greatness Black History Month program sponsored by Lange MAC Scholars at Lange Middle School on Tuesday evening. Smith has been coaching the Oakland Junior High step group for two years and learned to step in college as a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
