COLUMBIA — The Missouri football team signed its 20th member of the 2012 recruiting class, the MU athletics department said in a release Wednesday.
Brandon Holifield, a 6-foot-5-inch, 215-pound tight end from Tallahassee, Fla., signed a national letter of intent to attend Missouri.
At Godby High School, Holifield is a standout in track and basketball. He only played football his senior year.
During that one season, he played limited time due to a groin injury. He handled kickoffs and punts for Godby.
This season, Holifield is a starting forward for the Godby basketball team (29-2) and averages 9.8 points per game. His junior year, he placed third at the Florida 2A state track and field meet in the high jump with a jump of 6 feet 8 inches.
Holifield chose Missouri over Miami, Florida and Rutgers.
