Missouri's Rob Zastryzny named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

Missouri’s Rob Zastryzny pitches the first inning of the Missouri vs. Baylor baseball game at Simmons Field on Thursday. Zastryzny compiled a 4.33 ERA in 16 games for the Tigers in 2011 enroute to earning All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors.

Missouri's top starting pitcher, Rob Zastryzny, was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after throwing the Tigers' first complete-game shutout in conference play since 2009.

MU student found dead in Kirkwood

Trash compactor next to MU Student Center catches fire

A trash compactor in the loading dock on the east side of the MU Student Center caught fire at about 8 p.m. Monday. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, and there were no injuries.

Columbia man pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

Joseph Lynn Clark, 53, pleaded guilty Monday to possession of child pornography. His sentencing is set for 1:30 p.m. June 18.

South Carolina president: NCAA visit was "surreal"

The NCAA placed South Carolina on three years of probation and charged it with failure to monitor its athletic programs, among other penalties, after it found nearly two dozen Gamecocks received more than $59,000 in improper benefits and inducements for extended stays at a hotel for reduced rates and for involvement with a mentoring group from Delaware.
