Candidates for state House districts 44 and 47 debated the implementation of the federal health care law in Missouri and solutions for rebuilding Interstate 70.

Missouri officials have yet to begin work on creating a health care exchange even though states are required to tell the federal government by Nov. 16 how they will proceed. If states refuse to implement their own insurance-comparison marketplace, the federal government will step in to operate the exchange.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has said that extensive repairs are needed along Interstate 70, and suggested creating a toll to finance the project. Missouri Senate and House candidates are offering up alternatives to the toll.
