Carol Odor was the rock of her family, Columbia dance community

Carol Odor taught dance at MU and in Columbia for more than 33 years and choreographed more than 55 dance performances. She died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. She was 74.

Carol came to UMC in 1962 as an Instructor in Health and Physical Education to teach dance classes. Several years later she became an Assistant Professor and Head of the Dance Program. She remained in that position for 33 years until her retirement in 1995. Carol taught Modern, Jazz, Tap, Ballroom, and Country Western Dance, plus some courses for Physical Education Major and Dance Minor students.
