COMO YOU KNOW: Columbia Farmers' Market
The Columbia Farmers' Market is a producer-only market at the city’s Activity and Recreation Center. The market currently has more than 90 vendors from within a radius of 55 miles who sell produce, crafts, plants and more.
COMO YOU KNOW: Boone County Farmer's Market
The Boone County Farmer's Market is located in the parking lot of the Sanford-Kimpton Building, 1005 W. Worley St. All produce is grown by farmers from Boone and surrounding counties. The market accepts debit and EBT cards.

The ARC is a 73,000 square foot health club, fitness center and place to exercise run by Columbia Parks and Recreation.

Tax-increment financing was authorized by the Columbia City Council in March 2008 as an incentive for development or improvement projects that eliminate blight and create jobs.

Dan Devine served as head football coach for Arizona State University, the University of Missouri, the NFL's Green Bay Packers and the University of Notre Dame. Devine was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1985.

The Central Missouri Dream Factory is a chapter of The Dream Factory Inc., a national organization that raises funds and use them to grant dreams of local children who suffer from critical or chronic illness. Started in 1984, the chapter covers a seven county region in Missouri including Columbia, Jefferson City and surrounding areas.

The $75 million facility opened in 2004. It hosts Missouri men's and women's basketball games as well as concerts and other events. Capacity is 15,061.

The temple focuses on bringing together the community by opening its doors to all sects of Hinduism.

The publicly owned power plant is operated by the city to provide not-for-profit electric service by burning coal, gas and oil.

Shyrocks' Corn Maze is an annual fall activity on the Shyrocks Callaway Farm that invites visitors to explore all 15 acres of corn maze, which is mowed into a new design each year.

The Islamic School of Columbia opened in 1998 and operates under a two-class system with its students, dividing them by grades.

The Alpha Gamma chapter of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority was founded at MU in 1915. The sorority recognizes the Ronald McDonald House as its oficial philanthropy.
