Four men arrested for alleged robbery and assault

Three people were arraigned Tuesday on charges of second-degree robbery and third-degree assault.

Matthew Bann, 17, Michael Delap, 17, Joseph Ntakarahera, 18, and an unnamed juvenile were arrested Monday in connection to a robbery and assault that allegedly took place Sunday in the parking lot of Walmart on Grindstone Parkway.

According to probable cause statements, the victim went to the parking lot to meet with Delap, who arrived with four other men, including Bann and Ntakarahera. Bann and two other suspects are accused of physically assaulting the victim, during which time the victim’s gun was allegedly stolen.

The men then left the scene. According to a probable cause statement, the juvenile suspect said Bann placed the stolen gun in the ceiling of Ntakarahera’s apartment. Bann, Delap, Ntakarahera and the juvenile were later detained at a different residence.

Second-degree robbery is punishable with five to 15 years in prison, while third-degree assault is punishable with up to four years. Each suspect’s robbery charge includes a $50,000 bond, totaling in $100,000.

Ntakarahera was also charged with second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest in relation to an August 2018 case. His bond for this charge was set at $4,500.

Bann’s next hearing will take place June 25, Ntakarahera’s on June 26 and Delap’s on July 2.
