Amtrak announced Wednesday it is restoring one of the two daily Missouri River Runner round trips between St. Louis and Kansas City starting Thursday.

Morning departures from St. Louis and Kansas City will resume operations. For afternoon departures, which are still suspended, chartered buses will continue to run, stopping at every station on the route.

Because of flooding issues on the Union Pacific Railroad network, freight train traffic is being diverted to the Missouri River Runner route. Travelers can expect delays.
