A Columbia man was arrested Wednesday night in connection with a Dec. 3 home invasion and shooting in the 200 block of Loch Lane, Columbia police reported.

Derrick Burnett Jr., 35, of 5303 Silver Mill Drive, allegedly forced his way into a home with another armed thief and demanded money. A man in the house was shot multiple times.

Burnett was arrested after Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab determined that he was a match with blood found at the crime scene.

He was being held in the Boone County Jail without bond Thursday on suspicion of armed criminal action, first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, felony possession of a firearm, first-degree assault, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child .
