COLUMBIA — A man died in a two-vehicle crash east of Rocheport on Tuesday morning.

A minivan struck a dump truck after crossing the center line on U.S. 40 and Route J about 9 a.m., said Gale Blomenkamp the assistant chief of Boone County Fire Protection District.

The minivan's driver, Antawan Ferguson, 25, of Fulton, was pronounced dead on the scene when officers arrived, Blomenkamp said. The dump truck's driver, Melvin Pinkett, 36, of Columbia, was uninjured.

The crash happened about 13 miles west of Columbia.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
