Two men were arrested on charges related to a shooting Tuesday morning that injured two people at an apartment complex near Stephens Lake Park.

One of the suspects, Lajavion Andreas Redden, 19, of Ashland, was arrested on charges of two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action early Wednesday morning.

Columbia police arrested Columbia resident Rashad Marquis Ingram, 19, on Tuesday on charges of tampering with physical evidence, according to a department news release.

Police responded to a call that multiple shots had been fired around 11 a.m. at the 200 block of Anita Court.

Officers initially found a victim in the area who had been shot, along with several gun casings, according to the release. Upon further investigations, they found another shooting victim hiding in a nearby shed. Both were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said Tuesday.

Redden was being held in the Boone County Jail on a bond totaling $200,000. Ingram was being held on a bond totaling $1,500.

The Columbia Police Department is still investigating the incident. The department requests anyone with information to call 874-7652 or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
