Abi Feeney sticks her tongue out to catch snowflakes during a women’s soccer game Thursday at Columbia College. It was the first observed snowfall of the season in Columbia.

Thursday's snowfall broke a record for Nov. 8, according to the National Weather Service.

A total of 1½ inches of snow was reported at the Columbia Regional Airport. The previous record snowfall for the date was 0.3 inches in 1943.

Friday’s forecast calls for a high of 35 degrees and a low of 16 degrees. Wind is predicted to be between 6 and 15 mph with the possibility of 25 mph gusts. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 9 p.m. Friday.
