Raagas of Columbia is hosting a dance show with performances by the Kalanjali School of Indian Classical Dance and other groups from the Columbia community at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The event will be held at the Rock Bridge High School Auditorium at 4303 S. Providence Road. The event is open to the public and free to attend.

The dance school will perform a Bharatanatyam thematic presentation titled "Sarvam Shivaya Namaha."  Bharatanatyam is a form of classical Indian dance.

The founder of the U.S. branch of the dance school, Smrita Dorairajan, will also be performing at the event.

Dorairajan said that the main goal of the event is to increase awareness of Indian culture in the community and encourage more people to learn and appreciate these art forms.

The show is anticipating around 200 people to attend from the Columbia and Jefferson City area.
