COLUMBIA — A 15-year-old male was shot in the chest Tuesday after giving three other teenagers marijuana at his northern Columbia home, court records say.

The shooting occurred about 3 p.m. in the 2300 block of Parks Edge Place. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to a Columbia Police Department release.

Emergency staff were able to stabilize his condition, according to a probable cause statement filed Wednesday in the 13th Circuit Court. No further information was available Wednesday on the victim.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim told investigators he was shot by “Johnny” after Johnny and two others came to his house, asked for and received marijuana.

About 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Johnny Annur Hurd Jr., 18, was arrested and charged with armed criminal action, first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Hurd was in the Boone County Jail on Wednesday afternoon on a $300,000, cash-only bond.

Two 16-year-old males, whose names have not been released, were arrested Tuesday evening. Their cases are being handled by the Boone County Juvenile Office.
