A man's body was found Tuesday afternoon by the garage at Fifth and Walnut streets, police said.

Around 3:50 p.m., an officer noticed a man lying in the street and radioed for assistance, Columbia Police Department spokesperson Jeff Pitts said. The parking garage was cleared.

On Wednesday, police identified the man as Marcus Andrew Rodhouse, 47, of Columbia.

Police have still not released a cause of death.

"At this point in the investigation, no evidence has been found supporting that there was foul play that caused his death," Pitts said in an email Wednesday. "This case is still under investigation."

As late as 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Sixth Street entrance was blocked. People were still able to exit from the Fifth Street side.
