Remy Barbara (Hake) Wagner of Columbia Mo. passed away at her home on Wednesday April 7, 2021. She born December 5th 1946 in Boonville Missouri the daughter of Lawrence and Estella (Faherty) Hake.Remy spent her early years growing up in Tipton Mo. She attended High School at Saint Francis Academy in Nevada Mo. After high school she attended Capitol Business College and Lincoln University in Jefferson City. In 1993 she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Houston Baptist University. She was a life-long student as she never ceased in her love for learning.She began her career in the insurance industry with State Farm Insurance of St. Louis Mo. She continued her career with American National Insurance of St. Louis and later transferred to Galveston Texas where she remained for many years, later moving to Houston, Texas. It was there, she married Martin H. Wagner Sr.She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, as well as her husband Martin.After Martin’s death she returned to mid Missouri and worked for the University of Missouri Columbia as an administrative assistant to several departments as well as the President’s and Dean’s offices.Survivors include her brothers Conrad Hake of Mary’s Home, MO, Gilbert Hake of Hartsburg, MO, Andrew Hake of Jefferson City, MO, Harry Hake of Jefferson City, MO and sister in laws. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephewsRemy had a love for not only learning, but also of the arts. She used this gift as she volunteered at the Museum of Art and Archeology on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Remy loved to travel and explore new and exciting learning opportunities. Her travels to Greece and Italy gave her great insight to the history of many of the items on display at the museum, this allowed her to bring to life not only the artwork on display, but that of the history of the many items themselves. Remy leaves behind a legacy of love for the arts, and the absolute importance of education and always pursuing knowledge. She will be missed by all of those who had the opportunity to have known her.
