The Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz will perform before the Homecoming game Oct. 20 as part of this season’s Mizzou Football Concert Series.

The concert series is free and takes place in Tiger Town on the west side of the Hearnes Center, in the middle of the pregame tailgate festivities on Mick Deaver Drive.

Nico & Vinz are a musical duo from Oslo, Norway who became internationally recognized with their 2013 hit single, “Am I Wrong.”

Coming from an Afro-Norwegian background, the group set out to create music as diverse as they are. As children, Nico and Vinz would accompany their parents to the west coast of Africa where they were exposed to a wide array of different music genres. Their music also draws influence from reggae and soul as well as pop.

In 2010, they formed their group under the name “Envy.” During that time, they performed at festivals and had several singles place on the Norwegian singles chart.

Shortly before they released “Am I Wrong,” the group was asked to change their name by their new record label in the U.S. From then on, they were simply “Nico & Vinz.”

Since reaching success, Nico and Vinz have performed with musicians such as David Guetta, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Bebe Rexha. In November 2017, they released their most recent EP, “Elephant in the Room” which includes the single “Intrigued.”

The football concert begins after the Tiger Walk and lasts for approximately one hour so fans have time prior to kickoff to enter the stadium. Admission to the concert series is free and does not require a game ticket.
