Misner gets first minor league hit

Former Missouri baseball and current Gulf Coast League Marlins outfielder Kameron Misner got his first hit in the minor leagues when he singled against the GCL Mets on Monday.

He finished the game 1-for-4 and also took a walk in his team’s 6-4 win.

Misner made his debut with the GCL Marlins on Sunday, but went 0-for-4.

Misner was picked 35th overall by the Miami Marlins in the MLB draft in June.

Bedell pitches at Cape Cod League All-Star Game

Missouri pitcher Ian Bedell started the Cape Cod League All-Star game for the West on Sunday and pitched two scoreless innings while striking out two.

He combined with two other pitchers to get four strikeouts and only give up one hit and one walk in three innings.

Garrett named to Butkus Award watch list

Missouri linebacker Cale Garrett was named to the Butkus Award watch list on Monday.

The award is given to the best linebacker in the nation.
