Missouri senior quarterback Drew Lock was one of 50 players named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award preseason watchlist released Tuesday morning.
The award, given annually to the nation’s most outstanding senior or fourth-year quarterback, features an impressive group of past winners, including Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck and Deshaun Watson. Lock is joined on this year’s watchlist by fellow 2017 standouts Jarrett Stidham (Auburn), Will Grier (West Virginia), Trace McSorley (Penn State) and others.
After leading the nation with 44 passing touchdowns last fall, Lock has now been selected to four preseason watchlists ahead of the 2018 season. Earlier this summer, he was named to watchlists for the Maxwell Award (top offensive player), Davey O’Brien Award (top QB) and Walter Camp Award (player of the year).
Lock is one of the nine players on Missouri’s roster who have made a total of 17 appearances on preseason watchlists for this season.
