Missouri made its final appeal in the NCAA sanctions case to the NCAA’s Infractions Appeals Committee in Indianapolis on Thursday.

Missouri’s baseball, football and softball teams got one-year postseason bans for academic misconduct violations that were announced in January.

Next, the appeals committee will make its final ruling in the case, which could be as soon as in a few weeks and as far away as a few more months. 

Columbia resident named 2019 Missouri Women’s Amateur Champion

A Columbia resident won the Missouri Women’s Amateur Championship at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Missouri.

Michelle Butler beat out Madison DeRousse from Barnhart, Missouri, in extra holes. After they both made par on the first extra hole, Butler won on the second extra hole.

Columbia residents win in round one of the Missouri Junior Tour 

Round one of the Missouri Junior Tour took place on Thursday and Columbia had several local winners.

Audrey Rischer won the 14-year-old and 15-year-old female category. Andrew Fallis won the 14-year-old and 15-year-old male category. Joseph Fallis tied for first place in the 16-year-old to 18-year-old male category. Emma Baumstark won the 10-year-old and 11-year-old female category. Kate Ryan won the 12-year-old to 13-year-old female category. Will Klimes and Carter Holliday tied for first place in the 12-year-old to 13-year-old male category. Olivia Neal won the 8-year-old to 9-year-old female category.
