Safety Ishmael Burdine's first season with the Missouri football team might be over before it began. Burden, a three-star recruit from Slidell, Louisiana, recently underwent surgery for a torn labrum he injured during his high school playing days.

The Missourian's Bennett Durando reported the news in a tweet.

Burdine, a three-star recruit, is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back with 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash. He was the 20th-ranked recruit from the state of Louisiana in the 2019 class.

Missouri football lands another commit

Trinity Catholic offensive lineman Jalen St. John announced his commitment to Missouri in a tweet on Thursday.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 302 pound St. Louis native is a three-star recruit.

St. John is the 13th commitment in the 2020 class and the seventh in-state commit.
