Missouri has lost one of the key components to its Class of 2018 recruiting class — and its future.

Freshman Grace Berg, the No. 36 player in her class according to ESPNw, will be transferring from MU, the school’s athletics department announced in a statement on Monday.

“Mizzou wishes her well as she pursues other opportunities,” the school said in the statement.

Berg’s transfer is effective immediately, as she was not listed on Missouri’s roster before the Tigers’ game at South Carolina.

The 6-foot forward has played wing for much of Missouri’s season this year. She’s played in all 19 of the Tigers’ games and started one of them, averaging 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 12.7 minutes per game.

Berg’s departure leaves Missouri with three players left in its 2018 recruiting class: guards Haley Troup and Akira Levy, who have become key parts of the team’s reserve corps, and forward Brittany Garner, who hasn’t played this season.
