An Ashland native beat the back-to-back defending champion of the Missouri Amateur Championship Sunday.

Walker Kesterson trailed Brad Nurski for almost the entire match, but Kesterson kept coming back.

Nurski was 2-up after the first five holes, but Kesterson cut it down to 1-up with a birdie on the eighth hole.

Keterson tied the match on the 13th hole, but on the 16th hole, Nurski regained his lead.

Keterson tied the match again on the 17th hole and won it on the 18th hole with another birdie.

Kesterson becomes the 112th Missouri Amateur Champion.
