The Boone County Muleskinners hosted the first Democratic forum of the season for Southern District Boone County Commission candidates. The primary will be held on Aug. 2.
The new terminal would cost $38 million and would be located north of the existing terminal, south of Route H and east of U.S. 63. The regional airport is expected to double the number of people boarding planes at Columbia Regional Airport in the next 20 years.
City staff presented proposed changes to the city's zoning code to residents Saturday morning. The update includes proposals to reduce number of parking spots required downtown and the possibility of sharing parking spots for business.
The public meeting will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Daniel Boone County Building at 701 E. Broadway. The meeting precedes a series of public hearings that will start in May.
The city has also streamlined its URL address, Twitter handle and staff emails.
The two-day event featured lively discussion of tax issues, Columbia Regional Airport, parking and downtown development.
The documents, filed last week, detail fundraising and spending for the first three months of 2016.
The Columbia Police Department did not budget to maintain or replace the six cameras, police spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. The cameras have helped in 12 arrests as of 2015.
A judge will consider Monday whether to approve a settlement in a lawsuit related to the death of Ennis Marquis Patrick, who was struck by a truck driver while riding a bike along Interstate 70 in 2013.
