Armory Sports and Recreation Center offers free tai chi, qigong classes
Dan Miller taught a Yang style tai chi class Thursday morning at the Armory Sports and Recreation Center. The group of students gathered in a basement room to practice the martial art for an hourlong workshop. The class began with a warmup.
“We’re focusing on stretching and creating range of motion in the joints,” Miller said. “I want everybody to have that daily joint rotation and relaxation and breathing — filling the lungs as just part of a daily health practice.”
The Armory Sports and Recreation Center offers several free tai chi and Qigong classes a week. Miller leads the groups every Wednesday and Thursday.
