The town of Hartsburg is continuing to experience increased flooding as river levels remain high Thursday. Many residents and local businesses worked Wednesday to make sandbags to protect the town from the water. The river level is currently at 33.5 feet, which is 12.5 feet away from the flood stage and 1.5 feet short of being considered moderate flooding. Resident Glen Beckmeyer said the flood this year is not as bad as the one in 1993, but residents are still on the lookout for increased flooding.
