Sandbagging efforts continued Wednesday in Hartsburg. Employees from Southern Boone County Fire Protection District, Boone County Road and Bridge, Boone Electric Coalition, Hartsburg Levee District and residents of the City of Hartsburg worked together to create hundreds of sandbags. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Kansas City District, allowed the city to borrow the sandbagging machine for the effort. The river is currently at 33.5 feet high, 12.5 feet higher than the flood stage for the area.
