PHOTO GALLERY: Local artists called on to paint Columbia underpasses
The Resident Arts organized a mural painting on Saturday along the MKT trail at the Elm Street underpass. The event was hosted by coordinators and teen artist trainees from Resident Arts and the Career Awareness Related Experience program, a program aimed at developing skills needed to enter the workforce. Lisa Simms, the leader of this project, also designed the pattern for this wall. Resident Arts puts an outline of the chosen pattern on the wall before painters are invited, so that participants can paint on the wall directly and fill in the pattern.
