The Confederate Memorial State Historic site in Higginsville, Mo

The Confederate Memorial State Historic site in Higginsville, Mo., was once home to more than 1,600 veterans and their wives, children and widows who sought shelter at the home in 1891. The cemetery, which is on the property, is the final resting place of many who lived there.
